Our History

Development Environergy Services Ltd. (DESL) (formerly Dalkia Energy Services Ltd.) is a 100% subsidiary of Paris based Veolia environnement ingénierie conseil (VEIC), a member of the French MNC, Veolia, one of the world's largest environment and energy services business groups.

Since the launch of the business in 1999, DESL has continuously re-invented itself as a differentiated service provider through introduction of new technology, innovative business processes and development of a sustainable market for energy efficiency, renewable energy and waste-to-energy services in India and across the globe.

DESL has pioneered the development of ESCO performance contract system in India, and established itself as a reputed player in this segment. Since its inception, DESL has delivered 4 shared savings and 32 guaranteed savings performance contract projects leading to savings of about INR 1,200 million worth of energy annually for its clients. Additionally, over 1,000 energy audits have been performed to assist clients undertake such energy savings implementation measures directly.

DESL is actively involved in providing consulting as well as engineering services for development of renewable energy systems, including biomass, solar & small hydro power as well as waste-to-energy projects. DESL has contributed to development of over 550 MW of power projects based on different renewable energy resources globally.

The business was launched, as a business division of the New Delhi based DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd. (DSCL). In December 2009; DESL became a part of Dalkia India Pvt Ltd (a member of Veolia Environnement), and subsequently in March 2012, as part of the organizational re-structuring, it became a part of VEIC, the holding company of consulting businesses in the VE.
